By the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and organizational support of the Knowledge Foundation, was held ”Kitabi-Dede Gorgud” International Scientific Symposium in Nakhchivan.

Along with authoritative scientists and researchers of our country the symposium attended by experts and representatives of higher educational institutions of Turkey and Iran.

First, the participants laid flowers to the monument of national leader Heydar Aliyev at the center of the city in Nakhchivan.

Further, the guests were acquainted with the museum in which was given the information on life and activity of the great leader and also photos taken from personal archive reflecting separate stages of H.Aliyev’s activity. Including the symposium participants were acquainted with the exhibition of the books published at ANAS Nakhchivan Department devoted to the “Kitabi-Dede Gorgud” epos. Then symposium started its work.

Head of the Department on Humanitarian Policy and work with community organizations of Administrative Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Rahman Mammadov wished success to the work of the International Scientific Symposium on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the initial translation of “Kitabi-Dede Gorgud” into German, organized in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in accordance with Action Plan, approved by order of the Chairman of the Supreme Assemble of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on July 25, 2015.

He noted that, in Autonomous Republic was done the important work in the field of heritage studies of “Kitabi-Dede Gorgud” as well as its connection with Nakhchivan and preservation.

According to the decree of Chairman of Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on”Dede Gorgud Square” in Nakhchivan” from March 9, 1999 was created the square and was erected a monument to the Dede Gorgud in Nakhchivan and also on the occasion of the 1300th anniversary of the “Kitabi-Dede Gorgud” epos was held the scientific conference, conducted research and published books.

R. Mamadov also told about the work done in the direction of preparation of the advanced second edition of the monograph “Toponyms “Kitabi-Dede Gorgud” in Nakhchivan”, perpetuating of heroes of Dede Gorgud in pictures and handmades.

It was noted that, the work done by the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in the field of preservation of heritage “Kitabi-Dede Gorgud” in general is expression of respect for national values and literary cultural heritage.

It was emphasized, that in Nakhchivan in connection with the fighting and the plot of “Kitabi-Dede Gorgud” were identified more than 50 names. Deeper study and clarification of the historical and geographical features of the territory of the location of toponyms will be sharp and dignified response to those who consider Nakhchivan and number of Turkic territories as their own “Ancient Earth”.

Further were delivered the reports by Vice-president of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli on “Dede Gorgud’s ideas and modernity", Director of the Institute of Folklore, corresponding member of ANAS, Mukhtar Imanov on “Dede Gorgud and folklore of Nakhchivan”, Professor of Igdir University Turgut Ojalin “Dede Gorgud in Turkish literature”, teacher of Tabriz University Ibad Memizadeh Aghdashli on “Study and publication of Dada Gorgud in Iran”, Chairman of ANAS Nakhchivan branch, member of the Board of Trustees of the Knowledge Foundation under Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Academician Ismail Hajiyev ”Dede Gorgud Epos and its connection with Nakhchivan”.

Then the acted expressed their gratitude to the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov for the fact that he gave a historic decree in connection with the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the initial translation of “Kitabi-Dede Gorgud” into German, as well as for the care and protection in conducting of international scientific symposium.
