Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) expands cooperation with the purpose of development of domestic science and its integration into world science.

President of ANAS, Academician Akif Alizadeh received a delegation of the international scientific base "Elsevier".

First of all, Academician Akif Alizadeh said that the cooperation with the international scientific database is essential to introduce the world scientific community with the activities of Azerbaijani scientists and scientific results achieved by them.

Further, Regional Director for the international scientific base «Elsevier» in Turkey, Iran, Middle East Countries and Central Asia Tayfun Basal told about the activities of the organization and the benefits of this scientific base in comparison with other scientific databases. He emphasized that, "Elsevier" in which base the 23250 names of journal on various scientific branches are stored in total, offers to scientists the most known and reliable information resources.

The guest said that, the company is the largest system which provides a comparative analysis of the world-renowned universities and research institutions and their positions in the international scientific space. Then general manager of "Elsevier" Hushnud Kerimov and Ayhan Akanay Sarajoglu told about the services offered by the international scientific base.

They noted that, the service "Elsevier" and "Science Direct" covers most of the full-text articles in the field of science, technology and medicine. A large base of reference "Scopus" includes scientific publications on various areas. The meeting focused on prospects of cooperation between ANAS and "Elsevier". The management of ANAS positively apprehended the proposal of representatives of "Elsevier" to hold in the future seminars and trainings for scientists in scientific institutions of Academy.

In conclusion, was considered appropriate to invite a delegation of «Elsevier» to visit Azerbaijan once again for the implementation of the proposals and to sign an official document, strengthen cooperation between the two organizations.

The meeting was attended by academician-secretary of ANAS, Academician Rasim Alguliyev, Head of the Science and Education, Doctor of Technical Sciences Aminaga Sadigov, Head of the Scientific and Analytical Division of this Department Fail Kazimov.
