Council of Joint Veterans presented report for 2015

ANAS Central Scientific Library held report meeting of the Council of Joint Veterans devoted to activities in 2015.

Opening the meeting, chief of the II Special Division Eldar Guliyev reported on the done works and set tasks. He reminded items of the “Law on the Veterans” approved by national leader Heydar Aliyev dated June 28, 1998 and stated that, guiding by mentioned in Law, Council of Joint Veterans of ANAS puts to the fore boosting veterans’ labor, assisting for veterans who needs help, improving working conditions of veteran councils, and solving the issue of increasing the youth’s moral patriotism and behaviour. Council of Joint Veterans embraces 39 veterans councils and 1820 veterans. There are 15 academicians, 30 corresponding members, 269 Doctors of science and 637 PhDs among them. 7 individuals are participants of the World War 1941-1945, while 37 of the Karabakh and Afganistan wars, noted E.Guliyev.

In the event E.Guliyev also brought to mind ANAS President’s Order “On the granting ANAS employees with the name of Veteran of Labor”. Documents related on granting the name of Veteran of Labor, were issued by Commission and 396 of them accepted. Documents were approved in accordance with items of decision of the Cabinet of Ministers dated September 22, 1995 and 396 employees have been decided to grant with name of “Veteran of Labor" and licence of labor veterans.

During a report year, conference “Role of USSR scientists in gaining Victory at World War 1941-1945” devoted to 70th anniversary of Victory at World War 1941-1945” was held by participation of the Council in May. Meanwhile, by joint organization of Council of Joint Veterans and AR State Committee on Family, Woman and Child Affairs, was conducted event on “Role of women in Great World War in 1941-1945”.

Later on, head of General Affairs Department of ANAS, PhD in social sciences Fatali Abdullayev spoke about improving social conditions of old scientists, providing benefits to low-income veterans working in enterprises and organizations of ANAS, their treatment in sanatoriums and resorts, including usage of other favorable conditions for them in a current year. In addition, there are conditions for rest of scientists in “Science” campus, Mardakan Dendrary and Shamakhy Astrophysical Observatory.
