In Azerbaijan, jewelry occupies an important place among the traditional decorations. Valuable jewelry items, founded in the excavations show that, the jeweler's art was widespread in Azerbaijan and occupied a special place in the life of the population since ancient times. The National Museum of Azerbaijan History is replenishes samples of precious metals.
Recently, the museum purchased unique gold and silver necklaces. Relating to the XIX century, gold necklace “çəçik” weighs 41.4 grams. The necklace is composed of 5 series, each of which are strung of 16 pendants of different shapes - fish, half-moon, star, flower shape with a red stone in the middle, as well as the suspension of round shape with engraved images.
A gold necklace dated back to end of XIX - XX century consists of molds with red and black beads, rounded pendants - "babaxanı" pattern “nabati”. The third gold necklace relating to the XX century consists of 31 gold beads of a roundish form and a pendent - a coin medallion of 1890 belonging to the Austrian empire.
