Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

A regular meeting of the Presidium of the Nakhchivan Division of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences was held.

Opening the meeting, the chairman of the Nakhchivan Division, academician Ismayil Hajiyev, first acquainted the participants with the issues of the agenda. 

The first item on the agenda was related to the events that will be held in our country within the framework of COP29 this November. This information was presented by the scientific secretary of the division, PhD in philology Rashad Zulfugarov. He also informed the attendees about the essence and goals of COP29, the documents adopted within the framework of the conference, the Azerbaijan model in the fight against climate change and other related issues. 

Afterwards, senior laboratory assistant at the Institute of History, Ethnography, and Archaeology Safar Aliyev delivered a scientific report on the topic “The Beginning and Consequences of the 2nd Karabakh War.”

The Presidium of the Nakhchivan Division of ANAS also made a decision to hold a scientific session on the 75th anniversary of the president of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, academician Isa Habibbeyli.

Speaking on the matter, the chairman of the division stated that Isa Habibbeyli during his leadership of Nakhchivan State University, the Department of Literary Studies at the Institute of Art, Language, and Literature of the Nakhchivan Division of ANAS, as well as during his tenure as vice-president and later president of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, he made significant contributions to the development of science and education.

“Isa Habibbeyli is a scholar and science organizer with great services to Azerbaijani science”- the chairman added and gave a brief overview of the scholar’s scientific work.  

Then, the head of the Supply and Services Department Ilham Jafarov gave information on the state of preparations for the 2024-2025 autumn-winter season at the Nakhchivan Division of ANAS.

In the continuation of the meeting, the Presidium discussed other items on the agenda and made the relevant decisions.
