A presentation of the book “Ata Tarzibashi - National Researcher of Kirkuk” by Dr. Shamsaddin Kuzachi, the head of the Cultural Association of Kirkuk was held at the Institute of Literature of ANAS named after Nizami Ganjavi.
The event was attended by the president of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, the author of the book-Kirkuk poet and researcher, head of the Cultural Association of Kirkuk Dr. Shamsaddin Kuzachi, the general director of the Azerbaijan Literature Fund and member of the Azerbaijani Writers' Union Board Varis Yolchuyev, director of the Institute of Manuscripts of ANAS, Academician Teymur Kerimli, as well as members of the Board of the Turkic Elders Union, staff from various institutes of the Academy, and others.
The event began with an exhibition showcasing books on Turkmen literature published by ANAS.
Afterward, a minute of silence was observed in dear memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs heroically died in the battles for the territorial integrity of our country.
In his opening speech, the president of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli spoke about our glorious Victory, achieved through the unity of our Army and people under the leadership of President, Victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, during the 44-day Patriotic War.
He highlighted that with our victory in the Patriotic War, the 30-year occupation policy was brought to an end and Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity was restored. The head of ANAS also said that as a result of the one-day local anti-terror measures conducted in September 2023, our sovereignty was fully ensured. He emphasized that this glorious victory is not only the most significant event of our independence period but also a pinnacle moment in our centuries-long statehood history.
Academician Isa Habibbeyli stated that the historic Victory achieved under the leadership of the Victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev is a unique example of the creative continuation and development of the path laid out by the visionary National Leader Heydar Aliyev, successfully bringing it to completion.
Academician Isa Habibbeyli spoke about the order signed by President Ilham Aliyev on September 19, 2024 on the “Establishment of State Sovereignty Day in the Republic of Azerbaijan”. He described this document as a unique historical event in the socio-political life of our country. “Indeed, we are fortunate to witness and participate in these historic days of our country. We express our deep gratitude to the President Ilham Aliyev for bringing us these joyful days and moments”-he added.
The president of ANAS mentioned that various events have been organized in the Academy's institutes on the Remembrance Day. He emphasized that the glorious victory we achieved in the Patriotic War will remain forever in our history and our martyrs will always be remembered with respect and reverence.
Later, Academician Isa Habibbeyli spoke about the connections between Iraqi Turkmen and Azerbaijani literature, highlighting that extensive research has been conducted on Iraqi Turkmen in our country. He noted that in the work of Professor Qazanfar Pashayev, an employee of the Institute of Literature, the study and promotion of the literary and spiritual creativity of Iraqi Turkmen hold a special place. The Academician described his work “Six Years on the Banks of Tigris and Euphrates” as a publicist novel based on its genre.
He pointed out that, with the decision of the Presidium of ANAS, the Coordination Council for Iraqi Turkmen Studies has been established to coordinate and systematize research related to the history, language, literature, culture, ethnography, and folklore of Iraqi Turkmen. He stated that the director of the Institute of Manuscripts, Academician Teymur Kerimli, has been elected as the chairman of the council, while Professor Qazanfar Pashayev serves as the deputy chairman.
Academic Isa Habibbeyli also mentioned that numerous guests from Iraq participated in the international scientific conference titled “The Great Azerbaijani Poet Muhammad Fuzuli as a Representative of Common Muslim Culture", organized in ANAS based on the President's decree dated January 25, 2024, regarding the 530th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet Muhammad Fuzuli. He stated that this year, joint conferences are planned to be held in Kirkuk and Baghdad, as well as a visit to Muhammad Fuzuli's grave. He noted that several institutes of ANAS have established close relations with the Cultural Association of Kirkuk and are implementing several important projects.
Speaking about the significance of the book “Ata Terzibashi - The National Researcher of Kirkuk”, Academic Isa Habibbeyli stated that the book reflects all aspects of the activities of Ata Terzibashi, who is considered the Dede Qorqud of the Iraqi Turkmens. He noted that this publication is important as it is the most comprehensive book written about Ata Terzibashi till today.
Then Professor Qazanfar Pashayev, the leading researcher in the Department of Azerbaijani Oral Folk Literature and Written Monuments at the Institute of Literature delivered a report on the topic “Research on Ata Terzibashi in Azerbaijan”. The presenter provided information about Ata Terzibashi's life and rich literary creativity, discussing the writer's role in the development of Azerbaijan-Iraq literary and cultural relations.
The speakers included Orkhan Isayev, a researcher of the Institute of Literature, Sakina Qaybaliyeva, PhD in philology, docent and a leading researcher of the Institute of Folklore, and the heads of departments of the Institute of Literature, Professors Imamverdi Hamidov and Asif Rustamli, as well as leading researchers, Professor Nizami Taghoy and PhD in philology Gurban Bayramov made speeches at the event. They stated that the book “Ata Tarzibashi - National Researcher of Kirkuk” will be an important source for a wide range of readers.
Following that, the general director of the Azerbaijan Literature Fund and member of the Azerbaijani Writers' Union Board Varis Yolchuyev, the head of a department at the Institute of Literature, Professor Asif Rustamli, and TV host Fakhriya (Lilpar) Isayeva were awarded by the Cultural Association of Kirkuk for their contributions to the work of Ata Terzibashi.
The head of the Cultural Association of Kirkuk Dr. Shamsaddin Kuzachi expressed his gratitude to Academician Isa Habibbeyli for the high appreciation of the event's organization and his activities.
