Today, Presidium of ANAS held joint meeting of ANAS Departments of Humanitarian and Social Sciences.
Opening the meeting Vice-President, Academician Isa Habibbayli made speech on multiculturalism values of Azerbaijan model. Reminding Ilham Aliyev’s thought “Today multiculturalism has developed from way of life to level of state policy in Azerbaijan”, scientist stated that, it is high time to submit Azerbaijan model of multiculturalism to the world. I. Habibbayli drew attention to declaration 2016 as a year of multiculturalism by President Ilham Aliyev as a vital step in achieving this goal.
Azerbaijan model of multiculturalism relies on three principles – national values, tolerance and Azerbaijanism, noted scientist. Notifying about “Multiculturalism is the main consistent part of national policy both in East and West worlds in a modern era”, Vice-President highly appraised activity of Baku International Multiculturalism Center, conducting of global scaled humanitarian forums, various intercultural and interreligious events in the country in terms of developing multiculturalism in Azerbaijan.
State Advisor of the Republic of Azerbaijan for ethnic, multicultural and religious affairs, Academician Kamal Abdulla presented “Azerbaijan multiculturalism as a model”. He spoke about literary-artistic, scientific-publicist, including political sources of Azerbaijan multiculturalism. Bringing to mind promote and training of Azerbaijan multiculturalism in various countries of the world, lecturer informed about several round tables and conferences on current topic which held in abroad.
Academicians Vasim Mammadaliyev, Rafael Husyenov and Dr. Philosophy Ilham Mammadzadeh stressed out the importance of the topic relevance once more, put forward opinions and suggestions.
In the event was discussed research project “The development of vocabulary of the Azerbaijan language, public monitoring of the language compliance with the standards and preparation of integrated electronic system for the database structure of language” as well.
