An event titled “From Love for the Motherland to the Victory March” was held with the joint organization of the Central Scientific Library (CSL) of ANAS, the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) Yasamal District Organization and the Free Trade Union of ANAS, on the occasion of Victory Day-November 8.

At the beginning, the event participants were closely familiarized with the library’s “Heroes of the Garabagh War” fund. The director of the Library, Associate Professor and Doctor of technical sciences, Huseyn Huseynov provided detailed information about the publications preserved in the fund related to the First and Second Garabagh Wars, as well as the April and Tovuz battles.

The participants viewed a map of Azerbaijan inscribed with the names of approximately three thousand martyrs, the “Garabagh is Azerbaijan!” display and books authored or read by the martyrs themselves.

The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played at the event held with the participation of scientists, public figures, veterans of the Patriotic War and families of martyrs and the dear memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland was honored with a minute of silence.

Opening the event with an introductory speech, the President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli referred to the Victory achieved in the 44-day Patriotic War through the “Iron Fist” of President, Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev as the pinnacle of our country’s millennia-old history.

“The heroism and bravery shown by our army put a definitive end to the 30-year occupation, the just war led by the President concluded in a triumph of justice. With the one-day anti-terror measures carried out in 2023, full territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan were ensured”- said the head of the Academy.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli stated that the threat of losing our territories was completely eliminated with the return of National Leader Heydar Aliyev to the power for the second time in our country. He underlined the strong army-building policy by Heydar Aliyev which was one of the most important tasks he set for the return of our occupied territories.

“The ceasefire regime achieved by the National Leader gave opportunities to President Ilham Aliyev to modernize our army, develop our economy and most importantly, to nurture a new generation of patriots. The head of the country, over these years, strengthened our international reputation worldwide and the failure of peaceful negotiations gave Azerbaijan the basis to return its occupied territories through the determination of war. Both the Victory achieved on the battlefield as a result of the 44-day War and President Ilham Aliyev’s great intellectual superiority on the information front demonstrated the power and leadership of the Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief. Today, we are recognized by the world as a victorious nation, standing with pride”-said Academician Isa Habibbeyli.

The advisor of ANAS, Academician Yagub Mahmudov emphasizing the significant role of this historic victory for Azerbaijan, pointed out that the policy of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, that laid the foundation for the Victory, was continued with great determination by President Ilham Aliyev, leading our people to the Glorious Victory.
