Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Presidium of ANAS hosted the meeting of national focal points on EU "Horizon 2020" Program.

Meeting held on the initiative of the International Relations Department of the Administration Presidium of ANAS was attended by national focal points (NFP) from ANAS and various educational institutions defined on 16 priority areas of "Horizon 2020" Program. Head of the International Relations Department, PhD in geology-mineralogy Gulam Babayev opened the meeting and made speech on participation in programs of the European Commission, the NFP network activity in this direction and challenges ahead.

NFPs put forward their opinions on shifting this network into working mechanism due to ensure Azerbaijani scientists’ attendance in the international grant and project programs. The creation of a network of NFP website, regular meetings, training events, as well as to provide compliance of requirements set forth research and educational institutions meet with the European standards and other issues were discussed at the meeting. Fulfillments done within "Horizon 2020" Program, which also embraces educational institutions, is of great significance in terms of the combination of science and education.
