Report of Ganja Department of ANAS listened by videoconference in 2015

Report on the scientific-organizing results of the Ganja Department of ANAS in 2015 was listened at the regular meeting of the Presidium of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. The report presented by teleconference Academician-Secretary of the department, Academician Fuad Aliyev.

Introducing the meeting with important results and achievements obtained in the reporting year by direct communication Academician Fuad Aliyev said that, department institutions fulfilled 32 research works on 27 themes covering 12 scientific problems in 15 stages, of which 28 works have been completed on 11 stages on 24 topics. During the year, department employees have published 2 books, 3 scientific journals, 61 articles, of which 25 were published abroad and 11 - in journals with impact factor, 8 theses, 7 of which were published abroad. By separating the two theses were defended.

The results of the last year of scientific research clearly demonstrated in the 5 museums established in Ganja. On the basis of the materials detected as a result of research catalog of historical monuments of Ganja composed of culture samples of 800 names is going to develop.

Academician spoke also on the activity of Council of Young Scientists and Specialists: "During the year, members of the council presented 24 scientific works and 7 theses to the press in Italy, the USA, Sweden, Japan, Russia, France, Belarus, Turkey, Kazakhstan, 11 of these papers were published in scientific journals with high impact factor, the rest - in international journals, proceedings of scientific conferences and symposia."

Speaking about the unity of fundamental science and education, Academician-Secretary noted that during the year the department staff made presentations in the field of social sciences and engineering in higher and secondary educational institutions. Under the guidance of the scientific staff of the relevant departments, students conducted the experiments in the field of chemistry, biology and information technology in laboratories operating at the department.

Speaking of international scientific cooperation, the academician noted that in the reporting year the department received the right of representation in the scientific and organizing committee of the International Academy of Theoretical and Applied Sciences, has been the moderator of the Committee of Humanities Forum of young scientists in Baku. Fuad Aliyev stressed that the department staff participated in various events of national and international scale, and conducted research in the Ottoman archives (Istanbul) and brought to the department for further study 181 copies of manuscripts and 20 books related to the ancient history of Ganja.

It was noted that in 2015 by the decree of the President Ilham Aliyev, a researcher of the department was awarded the “Shohrat” and two individuals – a medal “Tereggi” for the achievements obtained as a result of research.

Then, by the teleconference was arranged direct communication with the employees and representatives of the department of scientific and pedagogical community of Ganja. It was noted that much attention is paid to the integration of science and education, even more enhanced communication between the relevant institutions of Ganja Department and higher and secondary educational institutions of the city. In addition, research works and received achievements past year were brought to mind.

After listening to and discussing the report, Presidium took the decision, according to which the scientific and scientific-organizational activity of Department in 2015 was found to be satisfactory. It was instructed to include report to the annual report of ANAS.
