Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

February 29, Vice-President of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), Academician Ibrahim Guliyev and chief of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics Dr. Geography Vagif Mammadov met with student and teacher staff of the Environmental lyceum № 291 "Araz" Baku city within the framework of "Scientists - Children" project by the Russian Information and Cultural Center.

It was timed to the 125th anniversary of the birth of the Soviet scientist and geologist Sergei Obruchev.

Scientist informed about biography of Sergei Obruchev, scientific discoveries including, geo-ecological problems of the modern world.

A student of the Lyceum, the winner of the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan "Future Scientists" Elshan Nagizadeh presented his environmental project and the vision of solutions identified by scientists to global problems.

Guests and hosts shared the view that such meetings are very useful and should become a regular. As a result, the event, participants expressed their mutual desire to continue the research dialogue.

The meeting was made possible with the organizational support of the Russian Information and Cultural Center in Baku.
