Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

By participation of professor-teacher staff and students of Azerbaijan National Conservatory, including Azerbaijan State Culture and Art Institute, was presented a monograph dubbed “Azerbaijan mugham study: problems and vistas”, developed by employees of Mugham study department of the Institute of Architecture and Art of ANAS.

At the event, chief of above mentioned department Dr. Art study Sevil Farhadova spoke about the relevance of mugham phenomena in a modern era. Being one of amazing spheres of human talent - mugham aims to link mutual understanding between people and nations and establish harmonious social relations by its philosophy, aesthetics and world images.

Noted that, presented monograph has been designed on the eve of IV International “Mugham World” festival initiated by the First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva. Edition sheds light on a research dynamics of mugham since midst of the last century until modern era. New outlooks and approaches in mugham study have been generalized in the monograph.

Other speakers also stated the significance of the edition in terms of delivering ancient and rich heritage of Azerbaijan to the world more widely.

In closing, students of Professor Janali Akbarov performed mugham songs.
