Delegation led by the Director General of the Foundation behalf of the King Abdul-Aziz of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Fahd Abdul-Aziz as-Sammari visited ANAS Institute of Oriental Studies on May 11.

The delegation of the Foundation met with the director of the Institute, corresponding member of ANAS Govhar Bakhshaliyeva. G.Bakhshaliyeva gave detailed information to the guests on history, structure and directions of the scientific activity of the institute. Spoke on the various departments of the Institute, current research activities G.Bakhshaliyeva stressed that, they are not only related to the Middle Ages, but also the modern era.

It was noted, the need to study the scientific activity of the Azerbaijan scientists in Arabic literature, director of the Institute told about the creation of the great poet Nizami Ganjavi and their borrowing from Arab sources.

It was noted that, along with the works of the representatives of classical literature Abdulfaraj al-Isfahani, Yagut al-Hamavi, Ibn Salam and others, the object of research of the Institute also was the work of the representatives of modern literature and modern thinkers as Mikhail Nuaimi, Jubran Khalil Jubran, Najib Mahfuz, Taha Huseyn, etc.

Expressing satisfaction with acquaintance with the Institute Dr. Fahd Abdul-Aziz as-Sammari appreciated the research work carried out here. He pointed out that, the structure headed by him is ready to support in conducting scientific research at the Institute of Oriental Studies, in particular, to establish collaborative links with the institution in other scientific areas and collaborate on new scientific topics.

Noted that, the Foundation carries out activity since 1972, the guest has presented to Institute of oriental studies several books and the atlases published by Foundation.

Then, there was a meeting with the staff of the Institute and guests.
