On a scientific basis assessed the sustainability of forest management in the territory of pastures ANAS AIC "Khizi"

It is known that, on balance of Agricultural Industrial Complex of "Khizi" of ANAS there is a land plot of 1705 hectares. 700 hectares of the land plot are suitable for agriculture, and 1005 hectares consist of the pastures and meadows intended for development of animal husbandry.

Improvement of fertility of soils, strengthening of food supply of animal husbandry, protection of natural fodder sites and improvement of pastures and preservation of botanical value of plants play an important role in development of agrarian sector, including animal husbandry on these land plots, satisfaction of demand of the population in agricultural production.

Acting Director of the Institute of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry of ANAS, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Alovsat Guliyev and head of the Agro Park of Administrative Department of ANAS, PhD on agricultural sciences Chingiz Aliyev on a scientific basis assessed the sustainable management of summer pastures in the territory of AIC "Khizi" of ANAS.

It is known that, there is the main part of summer pastures located in mountain and foothill area at an altitude of 1320 meters above sea level.

Corner of the slope 60 - 70% of meadows of mountain and foothill zones is 35 - 45 degrees, other part is located on slopes. Pastures are enriched with various forage crops of the mixed structure. At the same time the majority of the bean cultures extended on these sites is long-term.

As a part of a vegetable cover there are about 30 species of bean plants which 90% – long-term, and other one-year. Some vegetation is brome (Bromus inermius), crested Caucasian (Koleria caucasica), purple barley (Horeum violaceum), Kentucky bluegrass (Poa prontensis), meadow fescue (Festuca prontensis), red clover (Trifolium protensis), clover white (Trifolium repens), etc.

It should be noted that, as a result of slant zones of pastoral lands of a wind erosion of average degree the structure of the top fertile layer of earth was partially broken, and it has led to deterioration and decrease in efficiency of a soil cover.

To resolve these issues need to improve the culture of agriculture, strengthening links between science and production, the use of modern technology, along with the improvement of manufacturing processes, usage of scientific and technological achievements and advanced experience.

For this purpose scientists and specialists of ANAS should work together and take an active part in solving the existing problems.
