Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Today, a tireless promoter of the Javids heritage, director of the Huseyn Javid’s Memorial Flat, Honored Culture Worker, and Doctor of Philology – Gulbaniz İbrahim gizi Babakhanli is 60 years old.

Gulbaniz Babakhanli was born in Sherur region, Nakhchivan Autonomus Republic, on August 4, 1956.

In 1980, she graduated from Azerbaijan State University on behalf S.M.Kirov, faculty of Philology in specialty of philologist. Defended PhD thesis in 1992, doctoral in 2011.

G.Babakhanli worked as a hall sitter at the ANAS Nizami Museum of Literature during 1979-2004 and charged in chief department Azerbaijan literature of XIX-XX centuries. Since 2004, holds the director post of the Huseyn Javid’s Memorial Flat.

She engaged in promotion, investigation, and publication of Huseyn Javid’s heritage.

As a one of key activities of Huseyn Javid Memorial Flat, was developed a multivolume bulk “Javid study” by her authorship. 10th cover of the bulk, publishing in 2002, embraces articles and reviews of a great poet Huseyn Javid’s heritage, which had released on the press in different years (1912-1983), also detailed information about him.

Scientist is an author of numerous monographs such as “Azerbaijan literary thought and Huseyn Javid”, “Heydar Aliyev and Huseyn Javid”, “Immaterial monuments of Azerbaijan and Ertogrul Javid”, “Turan Javid: A life chronicle” etc.

She was awarded National Prize “HUMAY” for multivolume “Immaterial monuments of Azerbaijan and Ertogrul Javid” on April 26, 2012 by HUMAY-XXII Academy.

Scientist attended the conferences and exhibitions in the republic and abroad – Italy, Spain, Iran, Turkey, Russia, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan due to promote the rich heritage of Javids family. Her articles were published on numerous international scientific journals.

In 2015, she deserved to Honorary Title “Honored Culture Worker” by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

G.Babakhanli granted with Certificate of Merit of the Presidium of ANAS for merits in literature.
