Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

In accordance with the decision of the Presidium of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences on conducting 80th jubilee of notable literalist-scientist, State Laureate, Honored Scientist corresponding member of ANAS Yashar Garayev, Institute of Literature named after Nizami has released scientist’s five-volume “Selected works” and “Yashar Garayev: from near and far” bulk of article and memoirs.

Scientific editor of the “Selected works” is chief department of Azerbaijan literature in the XX century (Soviet period), Professor Shirindil Alishanli.

The first volume of the “Selected works” includes literalist-scientist’s “Genre of tragedy in Azerbaijani literature", "Our stage and contemporaries", "Criticism: problems, portraits", the second volume - "Poetry and prose", "Literary horizons", "Khari bulbul tale", third volume - "Realism: art and reality”, “Criteria is a personality", fourth volume - "History: from near and far”, “The end of millennium” books and monographs, while fifth volume covers scientific articles published in the periodicals written in different years, and texts of the reports and speeches.

Scientific editor and author of preface of the edition “Yashar Garayev: from near and far” is Vice-President of ANAS, director of the Institute of Literature Academician Isa Habibbeyli. Academician wrote his opinions in the forehead “A portrait of notable critic" to the aforementioned book: “If we have to analyze literary-scientific generations of XX century, we can imagine Yashar Garayev not only as a central figure in science, as well as one of the key barometers of quality changes. Yashar Garayev is a reliable and moral bridge between his masters – Ali Sultanli, Mammad Arif Dadashzadeh, Mammad Jafar Jafarov and his numerous students, who are new generation of doctors and PhDs of science.”

Articles and memoirs book has been designed by Dr. Philology Prof. Shirindil Alishanli and PhD in Philology Assoc. Prof. Aygun Bagirova. The book covers articles and memoirs written by celebrate Azerbaijani scientists, academicians – Mammad Arif, Mammad Jafar, Kamal Talibzadeh, Bakir Nabiyev, Tofig Hajiyev in different years. Several article and memoirs are brought out for the first time in this book.

Note that, multivolume works have been released in the publishing-house “Elm”, articles and memoirs in the publishing “Sabah”.
