Memorandum of cooperation between ANAS Institute of Geology and Geophysics and the Michigan University (MU) signed.

According to the documentthe Institute of Geology and Geophysics and the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences University U.S will hold joint research in the field of geological history, tectonic structure and seismic threats Greater and Lesser Caucasus, and will exchange research results.

The three-year agreement was signed by President of ANAS, Academician Akif Alizadeh and a representative of the MU on project Lankton Ryan.

For this activity will involve staff from both sides, workshops, will be held seminars and lectures.

Preparing young cadres and exchange of experience are among the issues set out in the memorandum. Scientists of Azerbaijan and the U.S will also hold field investigations in the region.
