October 6, Institute of Literature named after Nizami of ANAS conducted a scientific session devoted to the 110th anniversary of national poet Samad Vurgun.

First, the event participants familiarized with the exhibition reflecting the life and work of the poet.

Academician-Secretary of the Department of Humanities of ANAS, Academician Teymur Karimli told about life and creativity of Samad Vurgun, his merits in the development of Azerbaijani literature, the significance and high artistic features of his works. It was noted that the purpose of the event - to re-evaluate the great merits of the outstanding writer in the development of Azerbaijani literature, artistic and philosophical essence of his works, directed to a new direction of research of creativity of the writer on the basis of new scientific criteria, discuss the hitherto unexplored problem Vurgun Poetry.

Professor Shirindil Alishanli in his report on "The Art of Samad Vurgun in the context of contemporary literary and social realities”, commented the poet’s creativity based on modern scientific principles.

Speaking on the theme "Samad Vurgun and theater" Professor Ilham Rahimli told about the fate of the dramatic poet.

Head of Department of the Institute of Linguistics named after Nasimi of ANAS Ismayil Mammadov, in his report on "The Language of Samad Vurgun" interpreted the identity of the poet in the language of poems based on the principles of modern linguistics.

Other speakers also talked about the multifaceted creativity of S. Vurgun, stressed the importance of the session.
