The delegation of Kahriz Organization and historic water constructions of UNESCO paid a visit to Nakhchivan Department of ANAS.

Chairman of the Department, Academician Ismayil Hajiyev gave detailed information on directions of activity the institution led by him and research conducted here.

Noted that, staff of the Department took an active part in an objective and comprehensive study of history, culture, natural resources and biodiversity of Nakhchivan, including the publication of two volumes "Nakhchivan encyclopedia", "Encyclopedia of Nakhchivan monuments" (in Azerbaijani and English languages), the three-volume "History of Nakhchivan", the two-volume "The Red book of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic", the three-volume "Nakhchivan folklore","Annals of Nakhchivan theater","Historical atlas of Nakhchivan", Ampelography of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic" and a number of other fundamental works.

At the meeting, members of the delegation of the Organization of Karizes and Historic Water Facilities of UNESCO informed on the organization represented by them. Brought to the attention that the current organization since 2005, in recent years cooperated with many countries of the world and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is one of the first regions to which they have established cooperation ties.

Noting that, existing in the territory of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic kahrizs have a long history, members of the delegation said that render direct assistance to their inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

In conclusion, the guests were presented the book "Encyclopedia of Nakhchivan monuments", "Alinjagala", "On the Nakhchivan Department of ANAS".
