On October 25, Central Scientific Library of ANAS held a conference “Hungarian Turkology and Azerbaijan”.
Pursuant to President Ilham Aliyev’s order “On holding 90th anniversary of 1st Turkological Congress” dated February 18, 2016 and Resolution of the Presidium of ANAS dated April 20, 2016, the event has been dedicated to active member of Hungarian Academy of Sciences Georg Hazai’s memory.
In advance, exhibition reflecting the personal book collection of celebrate turkologist-scientist Georg Hazai.
Reminding President Ilham Aliyev’s order “On holding 90th anniversary of 1st Turkological Congress”, the Vice-President Academician Isa Habibbeyli underlined the significance of the conference which is related to. He stated that a final meeting of Turkological Congress, which has played exceptional role in cultural life of Azerbaijan people, will be organized in November this year.
Vice-President also brought to mind holding of chain events concerning to Turkological Congress by participation of orientalist and turkologist scientists from Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan and Uzbekistan. Academician said that, he was an attendee of international symposium devoted to 90th anniversary of 1st Turkological Congress on October 21 in Turkey and a documentary prepared of films, which were taken during the Congress, was demonstrated there.
Making speech on Azerbaijan-Hungary literary ties Vice-President of ANAS stressed out the role of Hungarian scientists in development of Turkology.
Academician briefed on lifetime and creativity of G.Hazai, who had great merits in development of Turkology and dealt with his role in literary relations between Azerbaijan-Hungary.
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Hungary to Azerbaijan Imre Laslotski spoke about the friendly and fraternal relations between the two countries, he expressed confidence that, the event will make an important contribution to the development and formation of the Turkic and Turkological ties.
Director of the Central Scientific Library, Doctor of Philosophy in Medicine Leyla Imanova spoke in connection with the integration stored at the library collection Hazai in the world of library and information environment.
Spoke at the event Azerbaijani ambassador to Hungary Vilayat Guliyev, head of the Ataturk Center in Azerbaijan, corresponding member of ANAS Nizami Jafarov, head of Department of of the Institute of literature, Doctor of Philology Asif Rustamli and others stressed the importance of the conference in terms of strengthening scientific relations between the Azerbaijani and Hungarian peoples.
In conclusion, the daughter of G. Khazai Sicily Khazai thanked the organizers for their attention to the memory of his father.
