Presidential Library of the Administrative Department of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan hosted for extended Academic Council of ANAS History Institute in which was held a meeting with Uzbek historian-publicist and prominent scientist Shukhrat Salamov.
Director of the Library Mail Ahmadov dealt with merits of books authored by Uzbek scientist. He stated that, presentation of these books of vital scientific and political importance, coincides to date of 25th anniversary of Azerbaijan state independence. Uzbek researcher has been to the Presidential Library many times during working over book “Turkestan and South Caucasus in the XIX-XX centuries, Dashnaks: from Fargana to Karabakh”, he added.
At the event, Director of the Institute of History corresponding member of ANAS Yagub Mahmudov spoke about deep-rooted historical ties between Azerbaijan and Uzbek peoples. He stressed that the main topics of the books directed to Armenians genocide against the Turkic people.
Then, Sh.Salamov delivered a lecture on “Dashnakstun as an organizer of genocides in Azerbaijan and Turkestan”. Armenian nationalists committed genocides, grave crimes, massacres, acts of terrorism in the territory of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Uzbekistan at various times. Millions of people have been killed as a result of the Bolshevik terror in Turkestan, he stated.
Afterwards, Uzbek researcher’s books dubbed “Turkestan and South Caucasus in the XIX-XX centuries, Dashnaks: from Fargana to Karabakh” and “Karabakh: war of ideas”, were presented.
According to the author, this book deals on Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, exposes significant facts about Armenian territorial claims against our country. Numerous archive materials prove that, in the early XX century, Armenian terrorist organizations under patronage of powerful states committed the most terrible genocides in Azerbaijan, Eastern Anatolia and Central Asia against Turkic-Muslim peoples.
In conclusion, Academic Council made a decision on giving to Sh.Salamov the title of Emeritus Doctor and diploma was submitted to the scientist.
