International scientific conference on theme “Scientific cooperation in the Turkic world and dialogue” devoted to 90th anniversary of 1st Turkological Congress was held in Ankara, Turkey by joint organization of Academy of Sciences in Turkey, International Turkic Academy and Association of Turkic World Academies of Sciences, October 20-23.

Opening the event President of Turkey Academy of Sciences Academician Ahmad Javad Achar highlighted a great historical importance of the 1st Turkological Congress.

At the international event Vice-President of ANAS Academician Isa Habibbeyli delivered a lecture “1st Turkological Congress and scientific-cultural integration processes”. Specially stressing out the significance of AR President Ilham Aliyev’s Order “On holding 90th anniversary of 1st Turkological Congress” Academician Isa Habibbeyli informed about history, aim, objectives, issues and challenges of the congress, including its role in the processes of transition to the Latin alphabet.

Director of the Institute of Linguistics corresponding member of ANAS Mohsun Naghisoylu’s lecture “1st Turkological Congress and Turkic world” aroused interest.

At the international scientific conference was attended by prominent scientists and experts of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and other Turkic-speaking countries.

The event was also exchanged views on the future activities of the Association of Academies of Sciences of the Turkic world. It was decided that the chairmanship of ANAS the Association of Academies of Sciences of the Turkic world from October 2017.

Note that, until now in connection the 90th anniversary of the 1st Congress Turkological in several foreign countries, including Kazakhstan, Hungary and Tatarstan held scientific conferences. A number of ANAS research institutes organized a series of events.

A final anniversary event Turkological First Congress will be held in Baku on November 13-15, by the organizational support of ANAS.
