Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

A workshop on “Innovation activity and science commercialization” at the Central Scientific Library was conducted on November 18. Seminar held for the Division of Physical-Mathematical and Technical Sciences has co-organized by Innovation Department of Presidium Administration of ANAS, Young Scientists and Specialists Council and Copyrights and Patent Department.

Chief of Innovation Department PhD in Agrarian sciences Vugar Babayev spoke about successful reforms carried out in Academy directed to science commercialization. Making speech on state care and attention to science development V.Babayev highlighted the creation of High Technologies Park of ANAS (HTP) as an obvious sample of it. He challenged scientists and specialists of the Division to closely take part in activities of HTP and submit their idea and suggestions.

Then, senior specialist of the same department Samir Veliyev made a lecture on “Organization of innovation activity and science commercialization in Academy” and informed on the innovation activity, especially fulfillments done in ANAS for science commercialization. Presentation deals with study international experience in the field of innovation activity in HTP and totally in ANAS, including production of competitive finished product can be applied to the manufacturing from idea, and existed infrastructure.

Chief department of Copyrights and Patent Sadikh Nabiyev brought to mind necessary data related to protection of intellectual property rights in his lecture on “Role of patent and license in science commercialization”.

Later on, head of International Program and Projects sector of the Azerbaijan Architecture and Construction University Arif Najimov delivered a report. Speaking of the significance of international program and projects he underlined the necessity of participating at the European Commission’s “HORIZON-2020” and “Erasmus+ KA2” framework programs.

In closing, chief of Science and Innovations Department of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University PhD in Physics-math Yashar Huseynaliyev told about the unity of science and education.

Next workshop will run on Division of Biological and Medical Sciences, November 24.
