As you know, by organizational support of the Institute of Physics, Presidium of ANAS and Science Development Foundation under the President of the Republic Azerbaijan (NDF) held opening ceremony of XIV scientific conference and seminar of the Asia-Pacific region on quantum information science (APCWQIS-2016) on December 5 at the main building of ANAS.

ANAS Institute of Information Technologies hosted the session of the conference, which was chaired by the director of the scientific institution, Academician Rasim Alguliyev.

First, the guests got acquainted with innovative conditions created by the institute. They were provided with detailed information about the Training Innovation Center, Distance Learning Centre implemented new projects here, classrooms, equipped with modern technologies, the opportunities presented by e-platform network of science, scientific computer network AzScienceNet and activities corresponding to the modern standards of digital libraries.

At the meeting, head of research group of Laboratory of Algebra and Quantum Information of the Joint Nuclear Research Centre Vladimir Gerdtin delivered a report "Introduction to quantum information". The report aroused great interest of the participants and respondent to many questions.

Note that, the XIV scientific conference and seminar of the Asia-Pacific region on quantum information science will continue their work in the sessions until 9 December.
