Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

On December 13, next assembly of Academic Council of the Institute of Folklore was held.

Director of the aforementioned institute corresponding member of ANAS Mukhtar Imanov stated that, the event was devoted to the results of scientific-organizing activity of institution for 2016.

Then, scientific-secretary of the institute PhD in Philology Assoc. Prof. Elchin Abbasov reported about results of research works carried out in previous year. Submitting the report of works done in this scientific venture during reporting year he brought to mind implementing of collection, publication and study of folklore at the level of modern academic achievements. He stated that, major part of institute’s activity has been associated with execution of decree and orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, including State Programs. 2 international conferences, 2 republican conferences, 2 scientific sessions, a holiday event, a round table and 2 presentations were organized at the institute in a current year.

It was noted that, in connection with the action plan approved by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan related to declaring year of 2016 - Multiculturalism year, Institute of Folklore carried out a scientific-practical conference on "Azerbaijani folklore and cultural diversity" in Zagatala, "People's creativity and multiculturalism" in Gusar. “Folklore of national minorities" department was established at the institute due to collection, publication and research of folklore of the minorities and ethnic groups, living in Azerbaijan.
