Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

On February 9 – on the day of 93th anniversary of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, an event devoted to presenting awards was held.

Chairman of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Supreme Assembly Vasif Talibov congratulated the population and event attendees on the occasion of 93th anniversary of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. It was stated that, within last 93 years, as a result of the survival Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic protected territory and developed.

Increasing economic opportunities influenced on science, education and culture in the autonomous republic, ANAS Nakhchivan Branch and Nakhchivan Department of the Supreme Assembly was established. Nakhchivan history was studied systematically, restored historical monuments, scientific papers, books and encyclopedias, including "History of Nakhchivan", clarifying the history and culture have been published, was noted.

Then the Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli noted that the establishment of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is an important event in the history of Azerbaijan.

Noting that today Nakhchivan perceived as a modern development, Academician I.Habibbeyli said that the comprehensive development of the autonomous republic of science and education have a special place.

Vice-president of ANAS noted that the publication of the multivolume "History of Nakhchivan" is the result of concerns about the science and education in the autonomous republic. Multi-volume "History of Nakhchivan" is an important contribution to the historiography of Azerbaijan.

Then the awards were presented. It was noted that according to the Decree of the President of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on February 9, 2017 a multi-volume "History of Nakhchivan" was awarded the Prize of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in the field of science.

Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov presented the award of the multi-volume "History of Nakhchivan" to the chairman of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan Branch of ANAS, Academician Ismayil Hajiyev.

Ismayil Hajiyev, expressing gratitude, said that conditions are created for the study of the history of Nakhchivan, pose important challenges for scientists and researchers. The team of the Nakhchivan department will continue its efforts, taking advantage of conditions created.
