Scientific Council of the Institute of History after A.A.Bakikhanov devoted to “Year of Islamic Solidarity” was held. Among the guests was Director of Center for Cultural and Educational Relations of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt Ahmad Sami Elaydi.

Director of the Institute of History, corresponding member of ANAS Yagub Mahmudov appreciated the declaration of “Year of Islamic Solidarity” as one of the vital events in the world.

Later on, Ahmad Sami Elaydi informed about priorities of the center led by him. Notifying courses of Arab language at the center, Egyptian guest invited associates of the Institute of History to take part in these courses.

Assembly has decided holding various events by joint organization of two parties within the “Year of Islamic Solidarity”, including translating books of Azerbaijan statehood history, history of Azerbaijan regions – Karabakh, Irevan and others, and promoting them in the Arabian countries.

Then, Y.Mahmudov provided information to the members of the Scientific Council on the court case of Uzbek historian Shukhrat (Barlas) Salamov and noted that charges about Sh.Salamov, who has written books on the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, massacres committed by the Dashnaks in Turkestan, were considered at the court and allegations raised by Armenians counted unfounded. Recalling the important role of statement by Azerbaijani intelligentsia, including the Scientific Council of the Institute of History in this case, director of the Institute congratulated historian-scientists.

Y.Mahmudov presented books – “Azerbaijan: a brief Azerbaijan statehood history", "Karabakh: real history, facts, documents "," Azerbaijani carpets: Irevan group" and brochures about Irevan history.
