Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Institute of Manuscripts named after Mahammad Fuzuli has presented “Safarname” work of Farhad Mirza Gajar, published by the decision of Academic Council of this institute.

Senior researcher of the institute, Dr. History Tahira Hasanzadeh’s book, which was translated into Azerbaijani from Persian, deals with representative of Gajar dynasty, son of Abbas Naibussaltanat – Farhad Mirza Gajar’s visit to Makah and Kaaba during 1875-1876.

At the presentation ceremony Deputy Director of Science Dr. Philology Aybeniz Aliyeva Kangarli stated the significance of the work in terms of study XIX century Azerbaijan history. She appreciated this work as a contribution for “Year of Islamic Solidarity”.

Chief of International Relations Department, Dr. History Professor Farid Alakbarli and Department of Investigation of Turkic manuscripts, a leading researcher Dr. Philology Assoc. Prof. Ali Aliyev noted that, the penning of book on the eve of Ottoman-Russian war, leads to investigate socio-economic and military-political situation of the both states as well as the determine historical point of Gajar dynasty at that period.

Director of the Institute of Linguistics, corresponding member of ANAS Mohsun Naghisoylu, head of Department of Investigation of Turkic manuscripts Dr. Philology, Professor Azada Musayeva, scientific secretary of the Institute of Manuscripts Dr. Philology Azizagha Najafov and others stressed out the importance of this book for Azerbaijan history study.
