Literary critic and poet Atif Zeynalli commemorated in ANAS

Today in the Institute of Literature named after Nizami ANAS took place a scientific session devoted to the 90th anniversary of the prominent scientist-literary critic and poet Atif Zeynalli.

At the event,Vice-President of ANAS, the director of the institute, Academician Isa Habibbeyli in detail told about the life and scientific activity of the scientist-literary critic Atif Zeynalli and his position in the world of science and literature. He noted that Atif Zeynalli worked for many years at the Literature Institute and was in charge of the Department of Azerbaijani literature of the XX century.

Noting that Atif Zeynalli came to literature with the poem "Azerbaijan", published in the newspaper "Azerbaijan Youth" in 1947, Vice-president of ANAS said that he is the author of 14 books of poems. He noted that three of his large monographic works are devoted to outstanding representatives of XX century literature Jafar Jabbarli, Samad Vurgun, Suleyman Rustam. His Ph.D. and doctoral dissertations devoted to the life and work of outstanding literary men are of particular importance.

At the scientific session, reports were given by the leading research assistant of the Department of Literature of the XX century of the Institute, the Ph.D. in Philology Safura Guliyeva "The Poetry of Atif Zeynalli", head department of Literary Criticism, Dr. Vagif Yusifli "The literary activity of Atif Zeynalli".

Further, the staff of the Institute of Literature and the participants of the session spoke about various problems of scientific and literary activity of Atif Zeynalli.

In conclusion, the deputy director of the Institute of Architecture and Art of ANAS, Ph.D. in art criticism Khazar Zeynalov, speaking on behalf of the poet's family, expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Institute of Literature for organizing the event.
