Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The collection of disks consisting of repertoire of folklore ensemble "Irs" of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS is issued. The repertoire of the ensemble includes ashig songs, tesniffs, mughams, folk songs and songs by composers.

The compilers of the disc collection are the institute director, corresponding member of ANAS Mukhtar Imanov, Ph.D. in Philology Elchin Abbasov, and the sound engineer is Mahir Ibrahimov.

Note that the ensemble "Irs" was created in 1976 by a researcher of folklore, musicologist Sidgi Mustafayev and the late composer Rashid Nabioglu. In 1981, when viewed with the participation of cultural, art and science figures of the republic, the ensemble's work was highly appreciated and it was given the status of a state ensemble. Since 2002, the ensemble has been working at the Institute of Folklore of ANAS.
