Scientists of foreign countries are interested by the studies conducted at the Institute of Manuscripts
Arabic Language and Literature Department of Haifa University of Israel Roy Viloizni and staff of the Ismaili Studies Center, Great Britain, Professor Janis Eshots visited the ANAS Institute of Manuscripts after Muhammad Fizuli on April 14.
The guests were met by the Deputy Director of the Institute for Scientific Work - Doctor of Philology Aybeniz Aliyeva-Kengerli, Pasha Kerimov and the Scientific Secretary, Ph.D in Philology Azizaga Najafov.
At the meeting, foreign scientists were provided with information about the history, activities and achievements of the Institute of Manuscripts. Head of the Department of Studies of Arabic manuscripts of the Institute, Professor Kamandar Sharifov spoke about the Arabic-language manuscripts stored in the scientific institution.
Roy Viloizni and Janis Eshots told about the activities of the structures they are represent. R.Vilojny noted the presence in the University of Haifa library of manuscripts related to Azerbaijan in Arabic, Persian and Turkish.
Then, guests got acquainted with the Exposition Hall of the Institute of Manuscripts. Head of the Department of Scientific Exposition and Presentations of Manuscripts Nigar Babakhanova and an employee of the same department Leyla Jalilova were informed about the manuscripts stored in the Institute, ancient printed books, personal archives and historical archaeographical documents.
The work on electronisation of manuscripts in the Department of Electronic Resources of the Institute attracted special interest of foreign scientists. The head of the department Firangiz Huseynova brought to attention that for two years the electronic versions of 2000 manuscripts were prepared at the institute and the electronic catalog of manuscripts was ready in full readiness.
Then, meeting participants discussed prospects for cooperation.
