Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

On April 18, the ceremony of presenting the “National Heritage Prize”, established by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, dedicated to the International Day of Monuments and Historic Sites was held at the Palace of Official Reception of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

At the event, the "National Heritage Prize” was awarded to head department of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of ANAS, Doctor of History Safar Ashurov for his services in the study of the heritage of Azerbaijan, as well as the head department of the Institute of Architecture and Art of ANAS, Ph.D. in Architecture Rahiba Aliyeva for his services in protection, restoration and use of monuments of cultural heritage.

Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev presented the prizes to scientists and wished them success in their future activities.

Note that, National Heritage Prize, established in 2013, is given to individuals and organizations that have distinguished themselves in the field of propaganda of the cultural heritage of our country and the protection of historical and cultural monuments in order to boost and support activities in this field.
