Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

ANAS National Museum of History Azerbaijan by the organizational support of center of culture and school # 39 held event dedicated to the memory of the National Hero Shahlar Shukurov "Heroes Do not Forget" on May 17.

The event was attended by representatives of the Baku City Education Department, Narimanov District Executive Power, museum staff, students and teachers of full-time secondary school number 39, relatives and family members of the National Hero, as well as media representatives.

At first, a minute of silence was honored by the bright memory of martyrs who gave their lives for the freedom and sovereignty of our country. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was sounded.

Director of the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan, Academician Nailya Velikhanli, Deputy Director of school # 39 Kenul Ragimova and others spoke about the glorious combat path of the National Hero of Azerbaijan, his meaningful way of life and noted that Sh.Shukurov's life is a good example for young people.

Touching upon the Armenian-Azerbaijani, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the speakers expressed their confidence that the lands occupied by the enemy will soon be freed as a result of a purposeful policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev.

Then, by Sh.Shukurov’s family, Gold Star medal, which was belong to hero was donated to the museum.

In conclusion, the students read poems about the Motherland, heroism, land, and also demonstrated literary and artistic compositions.
