On February 27, Meeting devoted to December 1 - World Civil Defense Day was held at the Institute of Geology.

Chief of staff Ogtay Farzaliev noted that, World Civil Defense Day is celebrated on March 1 every year in all over the world since 1972. He noted that Azerbaijan entered to the organization in 1993 and training of the population in emergency situations is the main task of Civil Defense organizations.

He said that since 1995, the World Civil Defense Day each year is dedicated to a specific topic and various events are organized, and “This year's theme is” Civil defense and culture of preventive measures of emergency situations for Civil Defense and safe society.

Noting that, the main purpose of Civil Defense as carrying out prophylactic measures in order to prevent emergencies O.Farzaliev emphasized special attention to this area in recent years.

Guidelines connected with the role in security services complex, preventing natural disasters, industrial accidents and other accidents were given and reviews and suggestions sounded.
