ANAS Institute of Architecture and Art, a scientific session dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding architect, correspondent member of ANAS, Jafar Giyasi held On June 7.

75th anniversary of the outstanding Azerbaijani architect Jafar Giyashi

Opening the event, Academician-Secretary of ANAS Department of Humanitarian Sciences, Academician Teymur Kerimli spoke about the life of the scientist, his valuable contribution to Azerbaijani culture and architecture. It was noted that, speaking of J.Giyashi as a talented architect, it is necessary to emphasize his activities aimed at organizing great creativity and the process of urban development.

It was brought to the attention that during the period of Giani's activity he attached special importance to the recognition of monuments of architecture and town-planning of our country on an international scale, as well as to the place among the world monuments. On the basis of the scientist's projects, 15 buildings and monuments were built, and the objects "Gobustan Reserve", "Ateshgyakh Surakhany", "Nakhchivan Mausoleums", prepared under the guidance of the scientist, were submitted to UNESCO for inclusion on the World Heritage List.

At the jubilee event were heard the reports of Professor Raikhi Amanzadeh "Tabriz architectural school in the works of Jafar Giyashi", Ph.D on architecture Rizvan Babashov "Garabagh architecture in the works of Jafar Giyashi", Ph.D in architecture Sevinj Tangudur "Jafar Giyashi's research on international relations of Azerbaijani architecture of medium Centuries ".

Speakers at the event noted that J.Giyasi, who has a wide worldview and deep knowledge, is a person directing his architectural activities.

He is the author of such books and monographs as "Far and close countries (Architects of the international relations of the Middle Ages of Azerbaijan)", "The eternal memory of the Karabakh heritage", "Architectural monuments of the period of Nizami", "Azerbaijan. Castles and Fortresses", etc., as well as over 250 scientific articles.

The jubilee speaker expressed his gratitude to the organizers and participants of the event.
