Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

International Press Center hosted a presentation ceremony of book “Parliament reports and comments in “Azerbaijan newspaper”, which published on the eve of 100th jubilee of Azerbaijan People Republic, June 8.

Chairman of Azerbaijan Press Council, MP of Milli Majlis Aflatun Amashov spoke on the importance of President Ilham Aliyev’s order “On the 100th jubilee of Azerbaijan People Republic” dated May 16, 2017.

A.Amashov noted that, aforementioned book deals with reports and comments on activities of Majlisi-Mabusa, the first parliament of the first Eastern Republic – Azerbaijan People Republic, on the Azerbaijan newspaper.

“Azerbaijan newspaper had been a chronicle of Azerbaijan People Republic, which had operated 23 months, he said.

Professor Shirmammad Huseynov had collected materials of the book, translated them from Arabic alphabet into Latin, and designed the book. Transliteration editors of the book are Shamil Veliyev and researcher Samir Mirzeyev.

Then, Chairman of Culture Committee of Milli Majlis, Director of National Museum of Azerbaijan Literature of ANAS Academic Rafael Huseynov spoke of the establishment history and activity of Azerbaijan People Republic.

Editor-in-chief of newspaper “Azerbaijan”, MP of Milli Majlis Bakhtiyar Sadigov made speech on difficult and honorable struggle ways of the Azerbaijan People Republic.

In closing, Professor Shirmammad Huseynov highlighted Azerbaijan People Republic as a remarkable and unforgettable event of the history and thanked to participants.
