ANAS President, Academician Akif Alizadeh received a delegation headed by the General Director of the Department of Intellectual Property and Science of Clarivate Analytics ("Thomson Reuters") for developing countries, Vizhi Krishnan.

During the meeting, Academician Akif Alizadeh recalled that, in October of last year an agreement on cooperation was signed between ANAS and Clarivate Analytics. He noted that, according to the agreement, more than 40 scientific and research institutions of ANAS and scientists and specialists working here were able to use the data of the "Web of Science" platform of Clarivate Analytics. Thanking the company's leadership for this opportunity, Academician Akif Alizadeh highly appreciated the cooperation with Clarivate Analytics and noted that this cooperation will contribute to the further development of science in Azerbaijan, increase of its authority in the world and will open new opportunities for researchers.

Then, Vizhi Krishnan, General Director of Intellectual Property and Science Department of Clarivate Analytics for Developing Countries, spoke. The guest noted that, the main goal of the meeting is to discuss the progress of joint cooperation between ANAS and Clarivate Analytics and to expand the possibilities of using the scientometric (bibliometric) database "Web of Science".

In his speech, the Executive Director of Clarivate Analytics for Russia and the CIS Oleg Utkin spoke about seminars and trainings organized for scientists and specialists of ANAS, and noted that, so far more than 20 trainings have been held, and in the near future a certification program is planned On «Web of Science».

Further, Director of the company for educational programs Valentin Bogorov said that, if a group dealing with sciencemetrics is created in ANAS, Clarivate Analytics is ready to provide all necessary methodological support to this initiative.

In his speech at the event, Academician-Secretary of ANAS, Academician Rasim Alguliyev noted that, cooperation between ANAS and Clarivate Analytics opens wide prospects for domestic science. Academician put forward a proposal to transfer to students who study at the master's and doctoral degrees, a minimum knowledge of science of science. The representatives of the company supported this proposal and stressed that this would help increase the number of scientific publications from Azerbaijan in authoritative scientific journals.

The representative of Clarivate Analytics in Azerbaijan and the expert on scientific and information resources Aygun Babazadeh said that, by the support of the Science and Education Department and the Office of International Relations of ANAS Presidium, analysts and experts have done a great job of creating a profile of the Academy in the database.

Head of the Science and Education Department of ANAS Presidium, Correspondent of ANAS Aminaga Sadigov, Head of the International Relations Department, PhD in Biology Esmira Alirzaeva and Head of the Public Relations and Popularization Department Zulfugar Farzaliyev also attended the meeting.
