A scientific and practical conference on "National and religious solidarity in our country" was held in the city of Zaqatala at Heydar Aliyev Center.

The event was held with the joint organizational support of the Knowledge Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Institute of Folklore of ANAS and the Executive Power of Zagatala region.

Initially, the participants of the event laid flowers on National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s monument in front of the center.

Speaking at the conference, the head of the Executive Power of the region, Mubariz Ahmadzadeh, brought to attention the announcement of declaring 2017 as the Year of Islamic Solidarity in Azerbaijan in accordance with the relevant Order of President Ilham Aliyev, a series of events are being held in Zagatala region.

In his speech, the director of the Institute of Folklore, academician Mukhtar Imanov noted that multiculturalism, tolerance and Islamic solidarity have always manifested in the culture of the Azerbaijani people and in relations with other peoples for centuries.

Representative of the Zagatala region of the Knowledge Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Kemal Akhmedova made a report on "Tolerance and multiculturalism in our country are a way of life and thinking", employees of the Institute of Folklore - PhD in Philology, Matanat Yagubkizi on "Tolerance and Multiculturalism in Azerbaijani Folklore", PHD in philology Zumrud Ibrahimgizi - Mansimova on "Folklore environment in Zagatala", etc ..
