Republican Council for Coordination of Scientific Research held a Regular meeting of the Scientific Council on Problems of History.

Opening the event, chairman of the council, Academician Shahin Mustafayev noted that, the main directions of the activity of the structure under his supervision is the control of the relevance of the problems studied in scientific institutions in the field of history and bringing theses in line with the requirements of the development of modern historical science. He noted that, the Council continues to increase attention to the definition of priority themes to be studied.

Then, at the meeting were discussed 20theses, including 4 dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Science and 16 theses for the PhD. degree on the specialties: "History of the Fatherland", "General History", "History of International Relations", "Archeology", "Ethnography" and "Ethnology". 17 of them were approved, themes of 2 doctoral have been delayed due to the presence of a repetition and lack of relevance, and one topic was not discussed.
