Signed an agreement on cooperation between the Manuscripts Institute and the National Library of Egypt

On September 26, the Director of the National Library and the Archives of Egypt, Ahmed Seid Muhammad Shovki, and the Director of the Center for Cultural and Educational Relations of the Embassy of this country in Baku, Ahmed Sami Elaidi, visited the Manuscripts Institute named after Muhammad Fizuli of ANAS.

First, the director of the Institute of Manuscripts, academician Teymur Kerimli, told the guests about the activities, international relations of the scientific institution he directed, research conducted here.

Stressing the importance of the Azerbaijani-Egyptian ties, Academician T. Kerimli noted the need to expand cooperation between the Institute of Manuscripts and the National Library of Egypt.

At the meeting, Ahmed Seyid Mohammed Shovki stated that the National Library of Egypt keeps manuscripts about Azerbaijan. The guest expressed his confidence that the links between the National Library of Egypt and the Institute of Manuscripts will be successful.

Then the guests donated to the Institute of Manuscripts an electronic version of copies of manuscripts consisting of 1500 pages.

In conclusion, a cooperation agreement was signed. The document was signed by T. Kerimli and A. Shovky.

The agreement provides for the exchange of specialists, the publication of joint scientific collections, the creation of conditions for the use of manuscripts and rare books in both countries, and other issues.
