New edition on archaeological research conducted in Gobustan published

The book by Deputy Director for scientific affairs of ANAS Institute of Archeology and Ethnography, Doctor of Historical sciences Najaf Museyibli "Gobustan: research and hypotheses" was published. The new edition, are 3 chapters in Azerbaijani, English and Russian, provides information on archaeological research conducted on the territory of Gobustan, analyzes hypotheses put forward in connection with the semantic interpretation of petroglyphs dating back to the Stone Age.

In the1st chapter, entitled "Some Questions of the Study of Gobustan: Specialists and Dilettantes", information about the research of I.Jafarzadeh, J.Rustamov, F.Muradov and other specialists is reflected.

In 2nd chapter, entitled "The History of Early Settlement in Gobustan: Upper Paleolithic or Mesolithic", Scientific thoughts on the history of early settlement are examined.

The 3rd chapter, entitled "Images of Boats in Gobustan", shows a general description of boat images revealed in other monuments of Gobustan and Azerbaijan.

And in the last chapter, was carried out a critical analysis of the hypothesis of the well-known traveler Thor Heyerdahl about the migration of the ancestors of the Norwegians from Gobustan to Scandinavia. The author in his work emphasized the necessity of using modern technologies in carrying out archaeological research

The research work is intended for historians, archaeologists and a wide readership.
