Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

A meeting dedicated to the 110th jubilee of Honored Scientist, academician Ashraf Huseynov was held on December 13 by the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On celebrating the 110th anniversary of academician Ashraf Huseynov", jointly organized by the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan and Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

First of all, the event participants visited Ashraf Huseynov's grave in the 2nd Alley of Honor.

Academician Akif Alizadeh, spoke about the importance of academician Ashraf Huseynov’s life, scientific work, as one of the founders of modern Azerbaijan mathematical school.

President of ANAS reminded great scientist's contribution to the development of science and education, and said that the rich mathematical heritage of Ashraf Huseynov contributed to the development of our science today.

Then Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Firudin Gurbanov spoke about the scientific and pedagogical activity of the academician and praised his services for our country, adding that the talented scientist, who has been promoting high science and education, is the author of more than 80 scientific works and has educated more than 30 philosophers and doctors of sciences.

Academician-secretary of the Department of Physics, Mathematics and Technical Sciences, Academician Nazim Mammadov said that the scientist is a well-known scientist in the field of integral equations and their application to mathematical physics.

Speaking about the relevance of academician Ashraf Huseynov's research, the speaker noted that a number of issues have been solved in the field of national economy, as well as in the operation of oil and gas fields.

Then director of the Institute of Management Systems, academician Telman Aliyev made a report on "Academician Ashraf Huseynov is a creator of cybernetics science school in Azerbaijan". After appointment to the position of Director of the Cybernetics Institute he decided to define the scientific directions of the enterprise, to use electronic computing machines in scientific research, to solve the current and very difficult problems, such as the solution of economic problems facing the country on electronic machines, Academician Telman Aliyevlined out.

Director of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics, correspondent member of ANAS Misir Mardanov delivered a report on "Scientific-organizational activity of academician Ashraf Huseynov". Misir Mardanov delivered a speech about academician Ashraf Huseynov's life and student years, scientific creativity and pedagogical activity.

Dean of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics of the Baku State University, academician Muhammad Mehdiyev, Deputy Director of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Vagif Guliyev, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Functions and Functional Analysis of the Baku State University, chief of the Jabrayil District Executive Power Arif Farzaliyev, director of the Institute of Petrochemical Processes, academician Vagif Abbasov shared his memories of Ashraf Huseynov's pedagogical activity and underline that his name was always respected everywhere in our country.
