Annual report on the activity of the Department of Physics, Mathematics and Technical Sciences listened

Today, the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS held a reporting meeting of the Institutes of Physical-Mathematical and Technical Sciences for 2017.

At first, the guests were closely acquainted with the material and technical conditions created at the institute. They include the services and products offered in the "Information Technologies" publishing house operating under the institute's Multimedia Center, as well as wide-format, high-resolution digital printing equipment, various books, textbooks and magazines, as well as the latest renovation of the institute "Economic and Civil Defense area".

Then, academician-secretary of the unit, director of the Institute of Physics of ANAS, academician Nazim Mammadov opened the event and informed about the issues on the agenda. The meeting was dedicated to the discussion of the current activity of seven institutions included in the Department of Physics, Mathematics and Technical Sciences.

Academician Javad Abdinov, Deputy Director of the Institute for Scientific Affairs of the Institute of Physics, who presented the annual report of the Institute of Physics, stated that, in the reporting year, 37 scientific-research work on 4 subjects in conjunction with condensed state physics, physical bases and techniques of optoelectronics, physical and technical problems of power engineering and nuclear physics, research work was carried out. Out of 258 influential journals in foreign countries, 226 articles in high-impact magazines and 89 articles in the country. In 2017, 1116 references were made to the articles of the Institute.

Director of the institute, academician Telman Aliyev, speaking on the annual report of the Institute of Management Systems, noted that this year 43 scientific research works were conducted on 17 subjects and 6 of them were completed. In the reporting year, the dissertation work was defended to obtain a degree of 2 scientists and 5 PhD.

T.Aliyev said that in 2017, the institute's staff published 344 scientific works, including 4 monographs and 106 articles abroad, including 106 articles abroad. Of these, 26 are Thomson Reuters, 26 Scopus bases, and 48 in other foreign influential magazines.

Director of the Institute, corresponding member of ANAS Misir Mardanov, presented the annual report of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics, noted that in the current year leading scientific-research and scientific-organizational activities were carried out. During the reporting period, there were published 386 scientific articles, including 140 articles abroad, 167 abstracts abroad, 15 scientific publications, and monographs and textbooks. 67 articles have been published in the Impact Factor magazine of the Thomson Reuters international scientific base. M.Mardanov noted that in 2017 the Institute defended 7 doctors of sciences and 8 PhDs.

Director of the Institute of Radiation Problems, corresponding member of ANAS Oktay Samedov made a report on the annual report of the institute and noted that in 2017, 24 scientific research works were carried out on 12 topics in 4 problems.

He also informed the staff of the Institute of Radiation Problems about the scientific researches carried out at the Dubna United Nuclear Research Institute in the Russian Federation, and said that the International Center for Nuclear Information, operating at the RPI successfully continues its work.

O.Samadov noted that this year 261 scientific works were carried out by the staff of the institute and 38 articles were published in the case of impracticable journals, in total 120 articles were published.

Director of Nasreddin Tusi Shamakhi Astrophysics Observatory, correspondent member of ANAS Namig Jalilov presented the annual report of the organization and highlighted the achievements of the current year in the field of astrophysics. He said that 57 books, monographs and articles were published in the Institute, 13 articles in imprinted journals were published and 97 references to scientific articles were published.

Director of the Institute of Biophysics, correspondent member of ANAS Oktay Gasimov gave information about scientific researches carried out at the institute, carried out projects and works to be done.

Then, academician-secretary of ANAS, director of the Institute of Information Technologies, academician Rasim Alguliyev noted the scientific achievements achieved in 2017 in his scientific institution. He noted that research has been carried out on Big Data and Data mining, cloud technologies, information security, biometric technologies, electronic medicine, software engineering and has achieved significant scientific results.

He noted that, during the reporting year, 84 articles, 4 books and 2 express-information were published by the Institute staff and 126 reports at international and national level conferences. Of the 210 scientific works published in the current year, 87 were included in authoritative bases.

R.Alguliyev also informed about the scientific-organizational and scientific-innovation activity carried out in the institute in 2017, international cooperation, international projects, cooperation with higher education institutions and other directions.
