ANAS Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi hosted an event titled "Academician Mammad Jafar Jafarov: moments and steps of great life".

The vice-president of ANAS, director of the institute, academician Isa Habibbayli mentioned that the decision on celebration of the 85th anniversary of establishment of the Institute of Literature was made by the Presidium of ANAS. State Prize Laureate, Honored Scientist, academician Mammad Jafar Jafarov has a significant service in the development of literary criticism, philosophy, aesthetics, linguistics, pedagogy and theater studies in our country, scientist emphasized.

Recalling the invaluable services of the academician in the study of our literature, Isa Habibbeyli noted that M.Jafarov's significance is important for delivering his research on Nizami Ganjavi, Mohammed Fuzuli, Hussein Javid, Samad Vurgun.

Corresponding member of ANAS Tehran Mustafayev, doctors of philological sciences - Shirindil Alishanli, Vugar Ahmed, Parvana Isayeva, PhD in history Mahir Garibov and others shared their memories about the scientist and spoke about the role of his literary criticism.

Then the head of the Department of Literature Theory of the Institute, Doctor of Philology, Professor Tahira Mammad's report "Unknown tragicomedy of literary scientist: as a great literary fact" was listened.

Within the framework of the event a documentary film about the life and scientific activity of the academician was demonstrated at the "On the top of wisdom".

In addition, Mammad Jafar Jafarov’s some books published by the Institute of Literature of, as well as a portrait of the honored painter Habiba Abdulla has been presented at the meeting.

The director of the Institute of Physiology, Doctor of Biological Sciences Ulduz Hashimova thanked the organizers and participants of the event on behalf of the academician's family.
