Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

On January 17, the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of ANAS hosted an event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the outstanding soil scientist, Ph.D. in agricultural sciences Gurban Azizov.

Opening the event, Academician Maharram Babayev spoke about the informative and glorious life path of an outstanding scientist, his merits in the development of the agrarian sphere in our country. It was noted that, Gurban Azizov was a scientist with rich experience in soil research. He was the head of the laboratory at the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, G.Azizov conducted research on land reclamation of the republic. His scientific work was distinguished by depth, scale, scientific analysis and logical results.

At the event correspondent member of ANAS Amin Ismailov, Professors Nizami Agayev, Hamlet Aslanov, head of the Land Reclamation Laboratory of the Institute, Doctor of agrarian sciences Mustafa Mustafayev and others told about the contribution of G.Azizov to soil science, the significance of his research, shared his memories of him.
