On January 24, the next meeting of the Presidium of ANAS was held at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics.

Speaking about the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the Shaki Regional Science Center (SRSC) in 2017, the director of the company, PhD in physics and mathematics Yusif Shukurlu said that the center's activities are based on fundamental and applied research priorities.

Yusuf Shukurlu informed about the important results - 8 scientific research works carried out in eight chapters in the reporting year.45 reports, 23 articles and 4 books were published in the report year and scientists’ works have been published in foreign and in impact factor journals.

It was noted that in 2017, SRSC together with ANAS, the Science Development Fund under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the BACSA (Black Sea, Caspian Sea and Central Asian Silk Association) and several local and foreign organizations conducted an international conference for the development of silk culture and other events in Azerbaijan.

Y. Shukurlu said that they participated in 16 conferences, mainly Turkey, Uzbekistan, Georgia and Bulgaria. The report also provides detailed information on the research works carried out by the departments.

The report was approved at the meeting and the important results were included in the annual report of ANAS.
