At the Presidium of ANAS was held a meeting with the delegation headed vice-president of the French University of Montpellier (Université de Montpellier), Professor Francois Henn. The main purpose of the meeting was to exchange views on the development of scientific relations between the two countries.
President of ANAS academician Akif Alizadeh welcomed the guests visiting country within the framework of the Nizami project and expressed his pleasure to see them in the organization headed by them. Speaking about his visit to France, the scientist noted that this visit was at a high level. He expressed confidence that the agreement on the organization and implementation of cooperation within the visit would have a positive impact on the activities of scientific institutions of both countries.
The President of ANAS underlined the importance of studying the experience of Montpellier University, one of the leading universities in Europe in terms of attracting young people to science and their integration into the international community. He said that the implementation of various scientific projects between the two organizations, and the fact that the Azerbaijani young researchers are to be sent to France is one of the important issues.
A.Alizade noted the importance of studying the experience of France in the field of biomedical and ecological education in Azerbaijan, noting that it is expedient to conduct research in this direction.
Vice President of International Relations at Montpellier University in France, F.Henn, expressed his interest in organizing and co-operation with ANAS.
It was noted that the Azerbaijani delegation will visit France in May this year. During the visit, it is planned to get acquainted with the laboratories of Montpellier University and organize meetings with relevant persons.
Institute of Botany is cooperated with the of Montpellier University, Academician-secretary of the Department of Biological and Medical Sciences of ANAS, academician Ahliman Amiraslanov underlined. Noting the importance of research by Azerbaijani young researchers in the direction of new biological technologies, the scientist emphasized the need to apply these technologies in the country's medicine.
Academician Dilgam Tagiyev, vice-president of ANAS, also spoke at the University of Montpellier. The scientist noted that he was acquainted with the important researches carried out in the chemistry at that university.
Head of International Relations Department of ANAS Presidium, PhD in Biology Esmira Alirzayeva and Head of Public Relations and Science Popularization Department Zulfugar Farzaliyev also attended the meeting.
