Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory hosted an event dedicated to the discovery of galaxies

Baku division of ANAS Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory after N.Tusi (SAO) held a regular astroseminar.

In his speech at the event, the deputy on scientific work of the ShAO, the doctor of philosophy in physical and mathematical sciences Elchin Babayev informed about the astroseminar.

Further, the senior researcher of the Department of galaxies and star formation processes, Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics Izzet Salmanov delivered paper on "Express information about galaxies".

It was noted that, as a result of joint research of a group of famous scientists from the Carnegie Institution of the United States in the universe, at a distance of 13 billion light years from us, the most distant quasar was discovered. The mass of the black hole at its center is extreme to 8,108 G.k and the appearance of such an object is still too early from the modern cosmogonic point of view.

Then, Nazim Huseynov, a leading research fellow in this Department, Ph.D. in physics and mathematics, noted in his report on the theme of "Galaxy" that the discovery of galaxies played an important role in studying the changes taking place in the universe from a temporary point of view and forming a new scientific worldview about the creation the universe.

N.Huseynov also gave detailed information about the redshift, which is observed in the spectrum of galaxies. The discovery of the general law of redshift in the spectrum of galaxies and the successive removal of galaxies from each other showed that the universe is expanding. This discovery made a great contribution to the formation of the idea of the emerged and destroyed worlds, in general, cosmological science.
