Scientific conference on "Azerbaijan Democratic Republic - 100"

Scientific conference on "Azerbaijan Democratic Republic - 100" was held jointly by ANAS Institute of History and Center for Culture and Education of Egypt.

At the event organized by the Egyptian Center for Culture and Education, the head of this organization, Ahmed Sami Elaidi, said that the People's Republic is one of the most brilliant pages of not only Azerbaijan but also the Turkic world, the Muslim world and the history of the East as a whole. For the first time in the Muslim East women had the right to vote.

Azerbaijan Democratic Republic is one of the most democratic state institutions in the world history. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the Republic emerged in a rather complicated international environment and ensured the equality of all citizens by removing race, nationality, religion and class inequality. The modern Azerbaijan Republic is a successor to the ADR. Azerbaijan regained its independence in 1991 and adopted the flag, emblem and national anthem of the Republic, director of the Institute of History, academician Yagub Mahmudov emphasized.

Elman Nasirov, a member of the Milli Majlis, historian scientists - PhDs on history Jabi Bahramov, Kamran Ismayilov, Goutekin Najafli and others noted that Azerbaijan Democratic Republic has left an indelible mark in the history of our country's statehood.

At the end, Mahmudov presented to the Egyptian Center for Culture and Education the second edition of the Encyclopedia of the “People's Republic of Azerbaijan” and the Arabic edition of the fundamental research "Iravan Khanate: the Russian occupation and the relocation of Armenians to Northern Azerbaijan".
