An international conference on "Modern interpretation of Nizami cultural heritage" held

Within the framework of the 6th Global Baku Forum State Committee for Work with Diaspora, Nizami Ganjavi International Center and the Azerbaijan Comparative Literature Association organized an international conference on "Modern interpretation of Nizami cultural heritage" in Baku on March 14.

Speaking at the event, Vice-president of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbeyli said that, the great poet Nizami Ganjavi is one of the strongest figures of our people who contributed greatly to world literature. Academician Nizami Ganjavi, who compares this genius master to the outstanding artists of the East and the West, referred to the world literature as Macedonian Isgandari: "Macedonian Alexander's military power, Nizami Ganjavi literally fame the world with his literary fame". Academician noted that, Nizami Ganjavi's five immortal poems brought a completely new poetic voice to the world literature. These poems contributed to the treasury of world literature under the name of "Khamsa".

He noted that, were carried out many studies on Nizami Ganjavi activity and his works, and it is possible to create a library, which is rich works by Nizami Ganjavi in our country.

Academician-Secretary of the Department of Humanities of ANAS, Director of the Manuscripts Institute, academician Teymur Karimli spoke about the research work carried out in the field of regulation in our country during the years of independence.

Then, chairman of Azerbaijan Literature Association, Professor Rahila Geybullayeva spoke about the conference.

Director of the Alexandrian Library of Egypt, describes Nizami Ganjavi as an extraordinary person, an innate talent, able to speak a few languages, a man of encyclopedic knowledge. In his works, the woman is described not only as a subject of beauty, but also as a wise person.

Speaking about the widest range of ideas in Nizami's works, representative of Cambridge University Christine van Rumbeke, said she still in love with his works from her student years and that this love is still going on.

At the same time, the scientist noted that Nizami possessed extensive religious knowledge, as well as the sciences of the era.

The conference continued with its work division sessions.
